How Do You View? How Do You See Others

We concluded our five-part series, How Do You View…?, by exploring the question, How Do You See Others?

Using Zechariah 7:1-10, we discovered that while the people were focused on religious rituals, God was focused on something deeper—the condition of their hearts and how they treated others.

God reminded His people to administer true justice, show mercy and compassion, and care for the vulnerable. The message was clear then and remains clear today: spiritual maturity is reflected not merely in religious activity but in lives that reflect the heart of God.

As followers of Jesus, we no longer evaluate people from a human point of view. Every person is an image bearer of God and someone Christ considered worth dying for.

Our series takeaway remains:

When we see God rightly, we worship.
When we see the Holy Spirit rightly, we yield.
When we see Jesus rightly, we follow.
When we see ourselves rightly, we walk in humility.
When we see others rightly, we love.

May God continue to transform the way we see Him, ourselves, and the people He places in our lives.

Weekly Challenge: See One Person Differently!

This week, identify one person you normally struggle to see the way Jesus sees them.

It may be:

  • A difficult family member
  • A coworker
  • Someone with different political views
  • Someone who has hurt you
  • Someone society tends to overlook

Every day this week pray:

“Lord, help me see this person the way You see them.”

Then intentionally take one action that reflects God’s heart:

  • Encourage them.
  • Listen to them.
  • Pray for them.
  • Serve them.
  • Extend grace to them.

At the end of the week ask yourself:

Did I merely look at this person, or did I begin to truly see them?

That question may reveal more about our spiritual growth than we realize.
