Live It Out – Be On Guard
In a world filled with distractions, competing priorities, and subtle compromises, spiritual drift rarely happens all at once. It happens gradually when we stop paying attention to our walk with Christ.
Throughout Scripture, God’s people are repeatedly called to remain spiritually alert. Joshua challenged Israel to cling to the Lord. Jesus urged His followers to watch and pray. Peter warned believers to stay sober-minded because we have a real adversary. Being “on guard” is not about living in fear—it is about living intentionally.
Robert challenged us to guard what matters most:
- Guard the Kingdom by seeking God first.
- Guard our words so they reflect Christ.
- Guard our hearts and minds by filling them with God’s truth.
- Practice the way of Jesus through prayer, compassion, and wisdom.
- Seek God wholeheartedly each day.
As we remain close to Christ, we become better prepared to recognize temptation, resist distraction, and faithfully represent Him in our homes, workplaces, and community.

Weekly Challenge: Seek God Daily
Each morning before you begin your day, pause and pray:
“Lord, help me stay spiritually awake today. Guard my heart, my mind, my words, and my walk so that everything I do reflects You.”
Then intentionally choose one way each day to seek God’s Kingdom before the distractions of the day compete for your attention. You’ll discover that the safest place to live is not in your own strength, but close to the heart of God.
