Immerse Kingdoms: The Rise of David and Fall of Saul
KINGDOMS journey through the rise of David and the fall of Saul. What a contrast these two men provide!
Saul began with great promise, but pride and partial obedience gradually took hold. David, an unlikely choice by human standards, reminds us that God sees beyond appearances.
“People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.” — 1 Samuel 16:7
David’s confidence wasn’t in his own strength, but in the God who held his future. Jonathan demonstrated that same trust through his costly loyalty to David.
Their stories invite us to examine our own hearts. Are we trusting God’s direction or relying on our own understanding?
The good news is that through Jesus, grace and forgiveness are always available as we turn toward Him.
As we continue our journey, may we remember: Give God your heart. Trust His power. Rest in Jesus’ forever promise.
This Week’s Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You that You see beyond my outward appearance and know the condition of my heart. Forgive me when pride, fear, or my own desires lead me away from Your direction.
Give me a heart that is humble, surrendered, and willing to trust You even when I cannot see what lies ahead. Like David, teach me to depend on Your strength. Like Jonathan, help me love faithfully and place Your purposes above my own.
Thank You for the grace and forgiveness I receive through Jesus. Continue transforming my heart as I grow in intimacy with You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Weekly Challenge: What Does God See in My Heart?
“The LORD looks at the heart.” — 1 Samuel 16:7
This week, take a few quiet moments each day to invite the Holy Spirit to examine your heart.
Consider this question:
Am I trusting God’s direction, or am I holding on to something He is inviting me to surrender?
Identify one area where pride, fear, impatience, or the desire for control may be influencing your response.
Rather than trying harder to fix it yourself, bring it honestly before God. Ask Him to deepen your trust and guide your next step.
Remember: Spiritual transformation begins not with outward performance, but with a heart surrendered to God.
