Immerse Beginnings: Perfect God, Imperfect People
This message reminded us that while human life began with God’s perfect design—“In the beginning, God created…”—our stories have always unfolded in the tension between divine faithfulness and human frailty. From Abraham to Jacob, Scripture shows a God who keeps covenant with imperfect people.
Unlike human contracts, which depend on performance and protection, God’s covenant is relational and rooted in grace. It says, “Even if you fail, I will remain true.” Abraham’s journey reveals both the beauty of faith and the danger of impatience—when he tried to “help God” by fathering Ishmael, chaos followed. Yet God never withdrew His promise; instead, He renewed it and fulfilled it through Isaac, proving that His purposes prevail even through our mistakes.
The story continues through Isaac and Jacob—each flawed, each chosen, and each transformed by grace. The message is clear: God’s faithfulness is not anchored in our perfection but in His unchanging nature.
“If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot disown Himself.” 2 Timothy 2:13
