As believers, we are in a love relationship—God loves us, and we love God.
Yesterday’s message gave us a deeper understanding of why the Ten Commandments appear in Scripture. They are absolutely relevant today because they reveal the very heart of God.
But remember this: the commandments were given after God had already rescued, protected, provided for, and guided His people. They were not conditions for becoming His people—they were instructions for living with Him as His people. God is teaching His children how life works when He is at the center.
Jesus summed it all up with these words:
“‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.” (Matthew 22:37–40)
